(KCPCNA)
KCPCNA
is an association of all the Knanaya Catholic priests sent by the Bishop of
Kottayam to North America to serve the Knanaya Catholic Community here. MISSION
STATEMENT KCPCNA
is committed to offer dedicated service for the integral development of
Knanaya Catholic Community in North America and to offer full support and
collaboration with the bishop of Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago in taking
care of the pastoral needs of members of the diocese with special focus to the
Knanaya Catholic Community. OBJECTIVES
1. To work for the integral
development of the Knanaya Catholic Community in North America. 2.
To take care of the pastoral needs of the members of the community and
other needs of the Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago as assigned by the
Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago.
3. To promote unity and team
spirit among priest members in serving the community and the
diocese. 4.
To design and execute various programs in local, regional, and central
level that would promote integral development of the Knanaya Catholic
Community. 5.
To promote lay organizations of the community and to encourage lay
leadership. MEMBERSHIP -
All
priests sent by the Bishop of Kottayam to serve the Knanaya Community in North
America shall be members of KCPCNA. -
Membership
in KCPCNA shall be confirmed by the president of KCPCNA in consultation with
the Bishop of Kottayam who is the head of the Knanaya Catholic Community. OFFICE
BEARERS -
Vicar
General from the Knanaya Catholic Community in North America shall be
ex-officio president of KCPCNA. -
If there
is no such Vicar General from the community, the members of KCPCNA shall
select or elect a president from among them. -
Members
shall also select or elect a secretary from among the members. -
Secretary
shall work in collaboration with the president in all the activities of KCPCNA. ACTIVITIES 1
Semi-annual gatherings for spiritual reflection and for discussion on
community development issues. 2
Mutual support among members, support to the bishops of the community, to
the bishop of the Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago, to the Knanaya Catholic
associations, and to the service departments of the community in North America. 3
Promotion of Knanaya Organizations, missions, and parishes. 4
Promotion of Catholic faith and Knanaya traditions. |
